Egypt 1882-89, undated reverse, 1 clasp, Suakin 1885 (T. J. Carnell. Gunrs Mte. H.M.S. Turquoise.), slight pitting, very fine

Thomas John Carnell was born at Landport, Hampshire on 27 July 1855. He joined the Royal Navy in 1873 and served aboard Turquoise in the Suakin expedition of 1885, helping to supply the column of Major-General Graham as it advanced into the Sudan. He was discharged dead on 31 January 1892, having died of disease in Yokohama Hospital, Japan; sold with copied research.
