South Africa 1877-79, 1 clasp, 1879 (2266. Pte. T. McDonald. 94th Foot.), good very fine

Private T. McDonald is confirmed on the Roll with a single-clasp '1879' for service with the 94th Foot during the Anglo-Zulu War. The regiment saw action at the Battle of Ulundi and upon the conclusion of the campaign remained in South Africa. A year later, during the First Anglo-Boer War, two companies of the 94th were heavily defeated at the Battle of Bronkhorstspruit with the remaining companies besieged by Boer forces for the duration of the campaign.
