Samuel Davenport
was born at Wybunbury, Cheshire in 1828 and was a bricklayer by trade upon his enlistment at Newcastle on 13 December 1854. Having previously served with the King's Own Staffordshire Militia, he joined the books of Pearl, he served with the Naval Brigade during the Indian Mutiny, with his Medal sent on 24 May 1861, having been discharged by purchase on 1 December 1859; sold with typed extract from ADM 158/114.
