Daniel E. Davies served on Gallipoli with the Welsh Horse from 8 October 1915. He would have landed at Anzac Cove with his comrades and shared in the operations in mining Hill 60, before being evacuated to Mudros in December. Amalgamated to form the 25th (Montgomery and Welsh Horse Yeomanry) Battalion, Royal Welsh Fusiliers in March 1917, the unit served during the Third Battle of Gaza and at the Capture of Jerusalem. It saw action at the Battle of Tel 'Asur, before moving to the Western Front. Davies latterly served with the Royal Welch Fusiliers (No. 355773).
