Pair: Leading Medical Assistant R. W. Price, Royal Navy, who served attached to the 1st Battalion, The Rifles in Afghanistan on the tour in which fellow Naval Medic Kate Nesbitt became the first female in the Royal Navy to be awarded the Military Cross

Operational Service Medal 2000, for Afghanistan, 1 clasp, Afghanistan (LMA R W Price RN 30049846); N.A.T.O. Medal 1994, 1 clasp, ISAF, nearly extremely fine (2)

R. W. Price was born on 8 September 1981 and served as a Leading Medical Assistant during Operation HERRICK 9 attached to the 1st Battalion, The Rifles as a combat medic. A typed report of his tour comments:

'He has been challenged physicaly and mentally and has been taken well beyond his comfort zone as a Navy Medic, but has stuck resolutely to his task...Price took part in numerous patrols and reacted well in contact with the enemy. He has had to deal with severe trauma to local nationals and his treatment has been very good.'

Those reports also suggest he had setbacks but he latterly gave good service at Forward Operating Base Jackson in the upper Sangin Valley; sold together with two previous Staff Reports besides the typed report of Afghanistan, also a number of photographs, one a group image featuring the recipient and Nesbitt.
