Timothy J. Macleod served in the Irish Guards from June 1989-July 2006. In that period he served in 1 Company, besides with the Support Company and Mortar & Signal Platoons and the final period of his time with the Sniper/Recce Platoon.

He then took up private work with the Armor Group, initially on Parsons Class 5 Convoy Escort Team in Iraq and from January-September 2007 served as a Close Protection Officer with the British Embassy Close Protection Team, Kabul. He saw further work in Afghanistan and Iraq with Olive Group and Al-Murabit Security. His Afghanistan Reconstruction Service Medal was sent in June 2012; sold together with copied discharge Certificate, FCO Medal issue letter, photograph of the recipient and biography.
