During those tours he was a Warrior DVC and was noted as the best Warrior driver in his Platoon and for short time filled in as a Platoon Sergeant. Completing the Cambrian Patrol in October 2002, he served in Basra during Operation Telic 3. During that tour he took his fishing rod and plenty of his down time was filled with that pastime.
