Charles Christopher David Field was born in December 1919 at Honiton, Devon, the youngest son of Lawrence Field and Dora Bessie Barnard of Water Park, Sidmouth. He married Joyce Frances Thelwall by special licence at the Swanland Congregational Church in September 1942 and later lived at Hareton House, Blackmore, Ingatestone, Essex, where he died on 13 March 1968.
