W. J. Hoskins served in the Western Desert with the 1st Battalion, South Wales Borderers. Initially reported as missing on 21 June 1942, he was later confirmed as a prisoner of war following the Allied defeat at the Battle of Gazala and the loss of Tobruk; sold with copied research.
