Khemparsad Limbu enlisted in 1959 and formed part of the second Recruit Intake to join the Gurkha Army Service Corps. The unit was raised in 1958 in Singapore to replace Army Service Corps companies, which were to be disbanded due to the ending of National Service. Four companies were raised to serve in Malaya, Singapore and Hong Kong. Limbu served with 30211 Company in Borneo in the trade of a Storekeeper. He was promoted Local Lance-Corporal in 1966 and it is assumed that he was made redundant following the withdrawal of British Forces East of Suez and cuts to the Brigade of Gurkhas.
