(x) India General Service 1854-95, 2 clasps, Burma 1885-7, Burma 1887-89 (20395 Gunr. H. Ochiltree No. 1 By 1st. Bde. E.Dn. R.A.), scratch to obverse, sometime cleaned, very fine

Henry Ochiltree was born on 2 June 1856 at Haddington, East Lothian, the son of James Ochiltree and his wife Margaret. He attested for the Royal Artillery at Edinburgh on 8 October 1877, giving his occupation as a grocer. Posted to 1st Brigade, he saw regular promotion - and reduction - in rank, being discharged upon the completion of his first period of engagement on 7 December 1889. In later life he was admitted to the Royal Hospital, Chelsea.
