Reginald Ralph Hitchins, a native of Bristol, was born in 1925 and served with the 11th Hussars in Palestine. Having served as part of the ad hoc Flying Column named 'Combeforce' that served in Libya with Armoured Cars during late 1940. Hitchins was killed in action on 22 November 1941 and is commemorated upon the Alamein Memorial.
8 Officers and 41 other ranks of the 11th Hussars lost their lives during the Second World War.
