League of Mercy, Badge, silver-gilt, by Vaughton's, hallmarks for Birmingham 1913, good very fine, in its fitted case of issue
Attributed to Thomas Henry Dunsford, for his services fundraising for the voluntary hospitals over the course of some forty years. Employed by Colonel J. W. Abraham, a Highgate magistrate, Dunsford raised some £500 from collections that totalled 10 shillings a week. The Badge was presented by the Duke of Gloucester at St James's Palace; sold with newspaper cutting.
