1866 (Oct.) Fiscal Stamps with top and bottom inscriptions removed and surcharged
Surcharged "service/two annas" in black
2a. purple tied by Allahabad "26" on 1866 (6 Nov.) "Allahabad Office of Issue of Paper Currency, Assistant Commissioner" part printed envelope to a Parsee Merchant at Rawalpindi, the reverse showing framed "too late", "lahore" triangular-framed transit datestamp and arrival datestamp; envelope truncated at sides and with a couple of vertical creases, a very light horizontal fold that crosses the adhesive and other small imperfections. The adhesive showing very little of the usual surface blemishes that one associates with this stamp

A very early use of this stamp issued less than a month previously, and an exceptionally rare usage of the stamp on cover which may well be unique. The S.G. Part 1 giving no x factor for use of this stamp on cover
