(g) Ottoman Empire, Mehmet V (AH 1327-36 / 1909-18), gold 500-Kurush, AH 1327, year 2 (1910), Toughra, Struck to commemorate the Sultan's Visit to Edirne, 36.06g (Ölcer 35.311; Pere 1007; F.50; KM 758; Schlumberger 778), an excellent striking with gloriously lustrous and often quite brilliant surfaces, very rare, especially in this condition, in NGC holder, graded MS63 ~the single finest certified by NGC or PCGS (Cert. #4861490-007)
The cataloguer notes that an inferior example graded by PCGS as MS62PL sold at Swiss auction in December 2018 for 16,000 CHF (c. 12,500 GBP), whilst the Ake Linden specimen, sold in London in 2014 for £8,500 [HP]. This example, being a recent discovery is offered to market for the first time, and will be well worth careful examination over the Coinex period!
