1897 (31 Jan.) opened-out envelope to de Villard bearing ½c. pair (one with tear) with the overprint in red, cancelled by Wuhu China c.d.s. and, on the reverse, further despatch, Shanghai Local Post (1.2) and Customs Shanghai (2.2) used on the official opening day of the Imperial Post Office and the postman's pencil delivery craracters


The envelope had been used as a letter sheet and the message is offering to sell the Wuhu local post office stamps. A good cover and one of the very few which exist. Photo
