Opening of Ichang Post Office
Use of Chungking Stamps
1895 (1 May) piece of newspaper wrapper addressed to Chungking bearing Chungking third issue 2c. rose-red ited by the boxed Ichang datestamp and showing the scarce boxed "collect on delivery" handstamp in the same purple ink. Repaired at top.


It is thought that this wrapper was mailed from Shanghai to the I.M. Customs in Chungking but underpaid. The postage stamp applied in Ichang as a postage due, hence the collection on delivery.
