Edward III (1327-77), Noble, Tower, Treaty A2, 7.65g [118.1gns], 9h, unbarred as and lombardic ns, single saltire stops, ropes 3/3, ornaments 1-11-11-[?], quatrefoils 4/4, rev. i.m. cross potent [5], double saltire stop after avtem, crowned leopards in angles, large e in centre, all in double-tressure of eight arches, trefoils in spandrels (Doubleday 167-168; cf. Potter {1964}, pp. 309-310, obv. 5/ rev. 6-7, "oversized h and i punches, lombardic n; cf. Stewartby III {'A2'}, 905; Schneider I, 57; N.1222; S.1499), minor flan clipping, otherwise a pleasingly good fine, a small coining from only eight obverse dies, rare thus
