(2), each cancelled by "27" barred numeral, showing despatch c.d.s. at lower left with, on reverse, Launceston and arrival datestamps. Note: The Barred Numeral postmarks were discontinued in favour of c.d.s. in mid-1900 due to the numeral's defacing effect on the new 1899 Pictorial series
