1858-92 miscellaneous selection (25) including undated entire from Cape of Good Hope to Bloemfontein bearing Triangular 4d. block of four (other stamps removed), 1858 entire letter from A.D. Du Toit (first Postmaster and the first Landdrost of Pretoria) to Beaufort West and sent via the O.F.S. with manuscript "Betaald Bloemfontein", Cape 4d. stamp cut away from face panel, 1858 letter, 1861 and 1862 part entires all from Bloemfontein to Beaufort West, one marked "Free State Post Paid", 1870s fronts (10) addressed locally with various frankings, 1880 official envelope from Bloemfontein to Germany with Official oval cachet, franked with Cape 4d. (2) and showing "2½d" rate handstamp in red, 1881 letter of condolence on the death of President Garfield with "On Service O.F. State" envelope and forwarding U.S. Department of State envelope, and registered letter receipts (4) on coloured papers, etc.
