Japanese Post Office: 1896 (7 Jan.) ½c. green card (PC2) cancelled by Local Post c.d.s. in black with a second strike at foot, uprated with pair of Japan 1s. Koban tied by "shanghai/i.j.p.o." c.d.s.; underpaid and with Japanese Post Office Shanghai "T" in circle tax handstamp, "ctms/T" and "u.s.charge/to collect/6/cents" plus San Francisco (7.2) and New York arrival (2.3) c.d.s.

A most interesting card sent from Tungchow bearing a Milkmaid Brand coupon affixed on the reverse (tied by the Shanghai Local Post c.d.s.) requesting a can of condensed milk to be sent to the sender. The addition of this coupon meant that this card had to be treated as a letter, so was underpaid. This card holds a great appeal and is probably unique in this respect. Photo


日本客郵局: 1896年1月7日煙台寄德國半分 (PC2型) 郵資片， 銷黑色煙台工部雙圈日戳， 片左下端蓋另一同色煙台工部雙圈日戳， 左上端加貼两枚日本壹錢小判两枚， 銷上海日本客郵戳; 因郵資不足而蓋上海日本客郵圓圈型 "T" 欠資戳， "cts/T" 及 "美國收取/6仙"， 而2月7日三藩市中轉戳及3月2日紐約到達戳均蓋於片的左下端; 充滿趣味性的郵資片， 由於片背加貼上的訂購牛乳廣告紙， 即表示要收取國際信件郵費， 本來2錢為恰當的寄海外明信片郵資就變成郵資不足了， 而本片亦為僅見的煙台書信館寄美國之混貼片.
