1894 (30 Oct.) red band envelope to the Imperial Customs Taku bearing, on the reverse, a corner pair of redrawn ½c. tied by the double-ring c.d.s. in red with a further strike alongside; there is some light soiling.

A rare and important cover. The local post letter rate included free delivery to the Customs Post. This is thought to be the only example sent from Chefoo to the Customs in Taku. Photo

1894年10月30日煙台寄大清大沽海關紅條封， 封背貼帶左下角位邊紙橫雙連半分票， 銷紅色煙台雙圈日戳， 旁多一枚相同日戳， 信封有輕微污染. 罕見的重要信封; 國內郵費己包含了免費送到海關郵局， 相信是存世唯見由煙台寄到大清大沽海關之實寄封. 源流: 2001年11月Charles Goodwyn.
