For interest and provenance, this example was presented to a high-ranking Bank official on the closing of the Portsmouth Branch and was overprinted 'SPECIMEN' in red to circumvent the giving of cash to a Bank official! This note is an issued example and is one of only two extant today. A definite highlight for any collection of British banknotes
