1846 (2 Sept.) entire letter to Boston USA, sent "care of Baring Brothers & Co., London", rated "1/3" (deleted) and "8", showing fine oval "Received and Forwarded/by/p. eynaud & co/malta" cachet in blue with manuscript "3/9/46" and Malta double-arc d.s. on reverse and, on face, oval "paid ship letter/london" d.s. in red; filing crease just crosses the cachet.
