1774 (22 Apr.) entire letter to a Brigadier in the army of Louis XV at Versaille, headed "a bord du Zephir a malte", rated "14" and showing a fine though over-inked "marseille/de malthe" h.s.. The writer advises the letter would be carried by a "van de guerre maltois" to Marseilles. Photo
