1886 (16 Aug.) mourning envelope from Larnaca to Munich, bearing a single in combination with 1882 CA Die I 30pa. pale mauve vertical pair, the upper stamp with early state of variety top left triangle detached and paying the correct overseas rate of 2pi., each neatly cancelled with squared-circle datestamp and with sender's cachet in blue at foot, Munich oval local delivery handstamp at right, the reverse with Brindisi (25.8) and arrival datestamps. One of only two covers bearing this surcharge and the sole example of the detached triangle variety recorded on cover. A remarkable franking. Photo
