1883 (1 May) De La Rue "Report upon the Adhesive Stamps used at the Cape of Good Hope" comprising ten pages (205x325mm.) linen bound, the first five pages being the report, page 6 being "Appendix B" with "Stamps printed in Doubly Fugitive ink" and bearing three each of 1865 ½d. lilac, 1873 1/- blue-green and £2 purple, one of each "Left intact", one of each "Obliterated by writing and then treated with oxalic acid" and one of each "Obliterated by printing and then treated with benzine", the remaining pages comprising "Appendix D" to "Appendix G" and bearing 1870 small format 2d. colour trials in green, rosine and dull purple for 2d., 4d. and 8d. values, and large format ½d. colour trials (37) in a range of colours on yellow (5), white (17), buff (7) and blue (8) papers for values between ½d. and £50; Appendix A and C missing from the original full document though a wonderful and colourful group for the Revenue collector
