1868 (9 June) Poole correspondence Officer's envelope to Kent, countersigned by Poole as "Staff Sergeant Major" and bearing 1861-70 6d. bright orange-vermilion cancelled with "bootheel" "1", despatch and arrival datestamps on reverse. A fine and attractive example of the concessionary rate which lasted from September 1867 until December 1869 at the time that the civilian rate was 1/-. Photo
