Aeolis, Kyme {under the Attalids} (c. 165-140 BC), AR Stephanoric Tetradrachm, Euktemon {magistrate}, 16.68g, head of the Amazon Kyme right, wearing tainia, rev. horse trotting right, one-handled cup beneath, kymain to right, eykthmn in exergue (cf. SNG {Copenhagen} 104 {for type}; BMC 77; Oakley 56, same obverse die), struck with a mildly worn reverse die, otherwise nicely toned, good very fine

Attalus III, the last King of Pergamon bequeathed Aeolis to the Roman Republic following his death in 133 BC.
