The East African Currency Board, 1000 shillings or £50, Mombasa, 15 December 1921, serial number A/1 00023, pink-brown, George V at top right, value at top left, low centre and corners, signatures of Mercer, Bottomley and Ezechiel, reverse pale brown, lion and Mount Kenya at centre, value at each corner
(Pick 18a, TBB B214a), in PMG holder 53 about uncirculated, rust, staple holes. As with the previous lot in recent times there have been a very few examples of the rare specimen 1000 shillings (all sold by Spink) there are no listings on Track and Price for an issued example and the cataloguer knows of no other issued examples, this a fabulous discovery note
