Great Exhibition, 1851, AE Award Medals, by W Wyon, For Exhibitor and Services [2], about 48mm., to 'Johann Putzer'; the other, 44mm., inscribed 'Zollverein. No. 474' (Eimer 1458, 1459); also, white metal Medals, 'struck at the Exhibition', by W J Taylor, 38mm. [3] (BHM 2459; Eimer 1463), the copper metals better than very fine, the white metal lustrous and about extremely fine or rather better for issue (5)

For Services: Johann Putzer is recorded in the official annals of the Great Exhibition as a Commission Member for Tyrol and Vorarlberg, his profession being a Wholesaler in Botzen

Exhibitor: The Zollverein Court of the Exhibition showcased the German Works of Industry, with the official annals recording no. 474 relating to C. Erdelen of Elberfeld in class VI for Cast steel reeds for wool, cotton and silk
