Dr Leibfried collection
Sir Herbert Lloyd Watkin Williams-Wynn, commonly called Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn (1860-1944) was a Welsh politician who served as a Member of Parliament for Denbighshire for only six months before the abolition of the seat in November 1885. Failing to regain a seat in subsequent elections, he was commended for raising four companies of Imperial Yeomanry attached to the Montgomeryshire Yeomanry for the South African campaign. He was made a Companion of the Order of the Bath in the 1902 Coronation Honours list. By patrilineal ancestry, the Williams-Wynn lineage can be traced back to the House of Aberffraw and the Kingdom of Gwynedd.
