Great Britain: Straker - Squire Limited, a series of certificates comprising £1 shares, 19[17], #1762, signed by Sidney Straker as director, brown, capital £175,000; £1 shares, 19[19], #5323, blue, capital £500,000 reduced to £200,000 in 5/- shares in red ink; 5/- shares, 19[22], #8747, mauve; First Mortgage debenture stock, 19[26], #1320, black, green underprint, and, Second Mortgage debenture stock certificate, 19[21], #1683, black, pink underprint. Origins in Barzil, Straker & Co., building steam wagons in Bristol. By 1907 the company were building commercial vehicles, London buses and French motor cars under licence. Also built and raced cars of their own design. Moved to large scale production of their own motor cars prior to WWI. Moved to North London in 1919 where production continued until 1926. F to EF (5).
