Great Britain: York Public Cemetery, £10 shares, 183[79], #541-545, York Minster in scrollwork at left, black, transfers recorded on the reverse to 1937. Founded in 1837 close to the city centre, it went into liquidation in 1966. During the following few years the grounds deterirated and finally the roof of the classical chapel collapsed. York Cemetery Trust was formed in 1984 to acquire the site and restoration began. The cemetery is again being used for its original purpose. AVF and scarce.
