The subject of significant fraud by Gerard Lee Bevan who was a stockbroker partner in Ellis & Co and also sat on the finance board of this company, and was in control of the City Equitable Insurance Company the main vehicle for his financial operations. Bevan was a son of the then Chairman of Barclays Bank; together with 4 miscellaneous certificates including Poplar Cinema Limited, £1 shares, 19[13], manuscript insertions on standard form.
