1896 (10 Aug.) envelope to Zoutpansberg, bearing 1d. with a clear datestamp and showing, at lower left, superb circular-framed "2d" and "t", three transit datestamps on reverse. The correct rate to Z.A.R. was 2d. so the 1d. duty was insufficient to cover the postage, accordingly the cover has been charged at double the deficiency. There are only two known examples of the 2d. in circle recorded. Photo
