Note: Due to unprecedented floods in the early days of February surface communications between Johannesburg and Lourenco Marques were completely disrupted. South African Airways maintained its usual service but it was found necessary to utilise the services of the Portuguese airline DETA on two occasions with covers from both these flights offered above. The 7 February flight was the only occasion on which DETA carried mail from Johannesburg to Lourenco Marques
