In 1861 the printers, Perkins, Bacon and Co., Ltd provided six examples of the 1d., 2d. and 1/- in their possession to Ormond Hill, the elder son of Rowland Hill, for members of the family. These fascinating stamps, and the story behind their appearance, have been fully described by Peter Jaffé in his book "Cancelled By Perkins Bacon", published by Spink & Sons Ltd. in 1998
