Overprint in Red: ½c. rose-red in a block of four with two pairs of the overprint tête-bêche, cancelled by the circular "chinkiang/postal agency" handstamp; part hinge remainders on the reverse. Photo

All examples of the trial printing should have been destroyed. This was certified as having been done by Roger de Villard. However, the appearance of these used stamps and philatelic covers on the market resulted in de Villard being jailed for defrauding the Chinkiang Local Post


半分試蓋票, 紅色加蓋欠資票四方連, 上兩枚與下兩枚是對倒加蓋變體, 銷黑色鎮江雙圈中英文無日期戳, 票背有貼痕._x000D_ _x000D_ 雖然這些紅色試蓋票在Roger de Villard(費拉爾)向鎮江書信館報稱下已銷毀, 但事實上該批試蓋票的郵件卻在上海郵市流通, 故費拉爾因欺詐鎮江書信館而入獄.
