1896 (26 Nov.) large envelope registered to Shanghai bearing first issue 5c. slate-lilac tied by circular "nanking/local post" postmark in purple with a fine strike of the boxed "Registered/No 126/nanking" in purple and, on the reverse, Nanking Local Post dated oval (error showing year before month) in purple and Shanghai Local Post c.d.s. (29.11) in red. A rare and important item of registered mail from Nanking, thought to be one of only two, this is in addition to the date error making this a cover of great significance. Photo


1896年11月26日南京寄上海掛號大型封, 貼第一版五分票, 銷紫色南京工部無日期戳, 左下旁蓋紫色方框形帶手寫號碼 "126"掛號戳, 封背蓋11月26日紫色南京書信館橢圓形日戳(戳內年及月的位置對調錯位)及11月29日紅色上海工部日戳. 這件南京寄出的掛號封, 相信存世僅有兩件, 這是其中是一, 而且帶郵戳年月錯位, 更顯稀罕.
