1895 (9 Jan.) stampless cover registered to Shanghai with manuscript "Registered" in red ink and "$5" in pencil. bearing fine strikes of the "kewkiang/paid/local post" oval and the boxed registered handstamp in purple with number "75" and, on the reverse, a fine strike of the Kewkiang Local Post dated oval and Shanghai Local Post arrival c.d.s. (11.1) in blue; the flap reads, "Municipal Council, Kiukiang along with a fragment of the wax seal. Fine and rare, thought to be the only registered official cover. Photo

1895年1月9日無郵票寄上海掛號公務封, 信封左上端有紅色手寫"Registered"及鉛筆寫"$5."字樣, 另蓋紫色帶手寫編號的方框型掛號戳, 右上端蓋紫色九江工部橢圓形郵資已付戳, 封背蓋紫色九江工部橢圓形日戳, 另一旁蓋藍色1月11日上海工部到達日戳, 封舌有殘留部份封口火漆; 保存完好及罕見, 相信是唯一的掛號公務封._x000D_ _x000D_ 源流: 1988年11月Ellery denison.
