Establishment of the Shanghai Agency
1894 (30 Nov.) post office notice accepting letters and parcels by express courier to Ichang, thence by steamer to the Treaty Posts and vice vercâ, giving the rates and other details. The notice is stamped at top with a fine strike of "chungking l.p.o. shanghai agency" c.d.s. in purple, the first day of the establishment of this service. Photo

It is thought that there are only three of these post offices notices left, the other two being dated January 14 and March 15 (illustrated in Dougan, ex Lane and Eide)


1894年11月30日重慶信局的郵政通告, 內容大慨為"由重慶寄出的信函或包裹, 先由速遞力差送到宜昌, 再轉汽輪運到各商埠港口….."並各項郵件的收費詳細等; 通告頂部蓋紫色重慶信局之上海代辦所大型戳, 這是重慶郵政服務有首日運作時發出的; 存世極罕, 為研究商埠郵史的珍貴素材._x000D_ _x000D_ 相信這類郵政通告存世只有三分, 其餘兩分的發佈日期分別是1月14日及3月15日(參考Dougan, ex Lane nd Eide的插圖).
