1896 (18 Sept.) opened-out de Villard envelope to Peking bearing 2ca. bright green tied by Tientsin seal type IX in blue; the letter was redirected to Shanghai and bears, on the reverse, Customs Tientsin, Peking (19.9) and Shanghai (25.9) along with Shanghai Local Post c.d.s. (24.9) in red. An attractive cover. Note that the flap was tucked in (with full gum) and has been fixed with stamp hinges in this position. No additional postage was required as this was carried on its redirection by the Shanghai Local Post. A scarce example of returned mail during this period. Photo


1896年(9月18日) 天津寄北京破剖封，貼貳分銀票，銷天津IX型藍色橢圓型戳，此信曾傳遞往上海，在封背上有天津海關戳，9月19日北京海關戳，及9月25日上海海關戳，旁有紅色9月24日上海工部日戳，十分吸引的慈壽實寄封; 值得注意的是封舌曾藏於封內，並經修繕，在轉遞時上海工部郵局並無要求增加郵資.
