1897 (9 Aug.) envelope to Illinnois "Via Japanese Mail" bearing Small Figures 5c. on 5ca. yellow-ochre tied by a fair to good strike of large double-oval "customs/chungking", Japan Koban 1s. green and 4s. yellow-brown affixed at left and tied by Shanghai I.J.P.O. c.d.s. (20.8) and there is a Rockford arrival (22.9); the letter was redirected to Chicago and, on the reverse, are Shanghai Dollar dater (18.8), Yokohama, Tacoma, Rockford and Chicago (22.9) datestamps; a couple of diagonal folds and some light soiling on the reverse. A very good cover which possibly shows the latest use of the Chungking Customs oval. Photo


1897年8月9日經日本寄美國伊利諾斯實寄封一枚，貼有小龍加蓋小宇洋銀伍分蓋於伍分票銷重慶橢圓雙圈海關戳、左邊貼日本小判票一錢及四錢各一枚銷上海8月20日I.J.P.O.日本客郵局日戳，蓋有9月22日羅克福得到達戳，此信件及後轉遞至芝加哥。封背蓋有8月18日上海大圓日戳
