George III (1760-1820), Pattern Sixpence, 1816, by T Wyon after a cameo by B Pistrucci, in silver, laureate head right, as type adopted for currency, georgivs behind ties, iii dei gratia before, rev. en médaille, crowned shield in broader oval garter, edge milled, 3.22g (Davies 110E; ESC 2226 (1651) ~ R5; Gietzelt 274 same dies), the usual die crack through Garter faint, otherwise attractively darkly toned, good extremely fine, extremely rare, in NGC holder, graded PF63, the current finest certified by NGC or PCGS (Cert. #4861492-002)
