The 'Hampole' Hoard (c. late 3rd Century AD), an interesting assortment of Antoninianii, including, Gallienus, sole reign (2), rev. soli cons avg; another, pietas avg; also, Salonina, rev. fecvnditas avg; also, Claudius II Gothicus (2), rev. marti pacif; libertas avg; additionally, Gallic Empire (5), including Postumus; Victorinus; Tetricus I and Tetricus II (2); lastly, Britannic Empire, Carausius, rev. pax avg, across field, generally very fine, some conserved, an interesting assemblage of coins circulating in Roman Britannia (11)

provenance
The Hampole hoard was discovered by three metal detectorists in mid-January 1991 and subsequently reported to the Museum and Art Gallery, Doncaster. Anthony O'Connor noted that the hoard consisted of just over 300 coins ranging from Gallienus to Carausius (the same range presently offered) and that it was originally contained in a beaker most probably fired at the neighbouring Cantley kiln site.
