Charles II (1660-85), Sixpence, first hammered issue, 2.94g, m.m. crown [no stops beside], 'Coronation' bust left, rev. square-topped shield over cross moline, inner ring and mark of value (ESC 316 {1510}; N.2767; S.3323), double-struck with rusty dies on reverse, the portrait otherwise bold and so seldom encountered on this series, attractive tone in recesses, extremely fine or near so, with an outstanding pedigree, rare thus
