provenance
Purchased Baldwin, 1972
Carlyon-Britton, Sotheby, 20 November 1916, lot 1271 (part) - £8.15.0 (Spink)

The wax residue present below the initial mark on the reverse was left as a result of the impression made for the Major Carlyon-Britton's 1910 article as evidenced by the reciprocal 'flaw' apparent on the final BNJ plate image.
