A scarce Great War M.C. group of four awarded to Major T. Anderson, 2nd Battalion, King's African Rifles, late Driver, East African Motor Transport Corps

Thomas Anderson served initially in Africa with the East African Motor Transport Corps from 2 June 1915 (Theatre 4A - British East Africa, German East Africa, Rhodesia, Nyasaland and Uganda). Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the King's African Rifles from the General List, he subsequently served at the rank of Captain with the 2nd Battalion, King's African Rifles. Risen to the rank of Brigade Major by the end of hostilities, he added a 'mention' (London Gazette 7 March 1918, refers) to go with his M.C.; sold together with copied MIC and roll extracts.
