William Donald Mctavish born in 1929 in Easton's Corner, Ontario. Enlisted into the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps on 8 November 1950. Sent overseas to the Korea and Far East Campaigns on 26 July 1951 for one year, serving as a Private in the 25th Field Dressing Station (part of the 25th Canadian Field Ambulance) and also the 37th Canadian Field Ambulance. Released on 9 December 1953. On 8 January 1962 he served briefly as a Rifleman in his local unit the Brockville Rifles with new number C811533. He took part in one of the "National Survival Courses" which had recently been set up nationwide.
